Using these tools in your artwork — by including, combining, or even omitting them — can dramatically change the impact of your comics!

= That part of our characters that displays personality, registers emotion, or just looks back at us!

= Anything a character DOES, or anything that HAPPENS. (Do we read a VERB in the image? That’s the action!)

= The time & place of the story. Settings might be super-detailed, super-simple, or even left out entirely!

= Anything that we READ (rather than SEE). Remember, in comics, we DRAW all our text into a visual space…
