SKETCHBOOKS | PERSPECTIVE
Here’s a panoramic sketch of a bustling classroom — Plus my guidelines for seeing (& tracing) the 3D space:

To draw this WIDE view, I had to use 4 pages in my pocket sketchbook. Here they are, set side by side:
Since the classroom looks so WIDE (from this angle), the dominant dimension will be WIDTH. Here are my loose guidelines, around 3 vanishing points:
Any edges running along this dimension (walls, tables, floor, &c.) will follow these guidelines:
Here are my guidelines for DEPTH, tracing distance INTO the center vanishing point:
Of course this scene also has HEIGHT — These guidelines curve gently like so:
All together, my 3D “grid” of guidelines looks like this:
That grid helps me trace the entire scene with a consistent sense of immersive 3D space…:
Now that you’ve seen the grid, maybe you can see some of my guidelines under the original sketch? (I used a yellow marker because it won’t show up when I scan the final artwork.)
And that’s how I see (& sketch) a classroom all around me!
