I’ve been playing this story-song all spring, & feeling like it’d make a great graphic novel or comic strip series. This mini-comic adapts the first six verses of Woody Guthrie’s lyric adaptation of John Steinbeck’s 1939 novel, The Grapes of Wrath. Some of Guthrie’s lyrics show up in the text, & some show up in the images.
Issue #2 will present the family’s journey to California (“the Promised Land”) & what they find there…
