The 16-PAGER is my favorite way to share full stories as mini-comics…

✔ Longer than a 1-SHEET!
✔ Fits on a single piece of paper!

MATERIALS:

  • Printed 16-PAGER mini (SAMPLES HERE)
  • Stapler (preferably long-arm)
  • Scissors (or paper cutter)

FOLD:

  • START with a printed 16-PAGER sheet
  • Find the front cover (p.01) & back cover (p.16).
  • Find the fold lines (marked by lines w/ 1 and 2 dots).

  • FOLD #1: Fold back along FOLD LINE 1, so that you can still see the front & back covers.

  • FOLD #2: Fold back along FOLD LINE 2, so that you can still see the front & back covers.

  • FOLD #3 (BOOK FOLD): Fold back to form the SPINE of the book (between the front & back covers).

STAPLE:

  • STAPLE twice along the spine, w/ book open + cover up (saddle-stitch).
  • TIP: The sharp bent ends of the staples should be visible at the centerfold of the book, between pages 8-9.
  • TIP: If you DO NOT have a long-arm stapler, you can fold the BACK COVER back on itself to help a short stapler reach the spine.

TRIM:

  • TRIM the TOP and OUTER EDGE of the booklet, so that ALL pages are now visible to flip through.
  • TIP: Use a paper-cutter for super-straight edges.

DONE!

  • Check to make sure ALL PAGES open cleanly — You may need to touch up your trimming on some edges.
